A premiere screening for related parties and invitees only was held to mark the opening of the annual “MET Opera Live Viewing”.
MET Opera is an opera entertainment program in which the latest opera performance of the world’s leading opera house, the Metropolitan Opera of New York (commonly known as MET), is filmed live and shown in movie theatres. In addition to dynamic acoustics and high-definition video, the film also includes behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with singers that usually cannot be seen in a live theatre, and has been screened in over 2200 cinemas in 70 countries around the world.
In Japan,the film was screened with Japanese subtitles just a few weeks after the local MET performance. Mr. Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the new music producer of MET Opera, visited Japan for the first time since he took this position and took the stage this year. The program was the popular “Turandot,” which has been selling out theatres all over the world.
