Perceived Sleep Time Is 23 Minutes Shorter Than Actual Sleep Time!2025 “Sleep Deviation Score®” Survey Results Report

Brain Sleep Co., Ltd. has been conducting the “Sleep Deviation Score®” survey targeting 10,000 people across all 47 prefectures in Japan since 2020, and 2025 marks its sixth year.

The Sleep Deviation Score is a comprehensive scoring method that evaluates sleep status not only by directly assessing items such as sleep habits and sleep debt, but also by incorporating factors like productivity, stress levels, and the risk of sleep apnea syndrome (SAS). Going forward, Brain Sleep plans to utilize the survey results to promote various initiatives aimed at further improving sleep quality in Japan.

The 2025 results revealed, among other findings, that many people feel their perceived sleep time is 23 minutes shorter than their actual sleep duration.
